I have been editting this blog entry for 4 or 5 days now. (and I hope this would be my last time to do so)
It's just I have so many things to write about in my head but these things aren't just related and they aren't that easy to express either.
So I guess a better way to get this blog entry over and done with is to keep rambling on and on... [and i guess it did work because you're reading it at this very moment. YES!!
]
Well, during the past few weeks I was pretty free from any urgent work assignment, so I was sent on a mission to design our original never-before-seen CD-Finance Team t-shirt. This t-shirt is meant to be a gift for our boss, the one that is leaving (he's actually already left but he's coming back next week to clear his stuff and for our tiny little get-together "Good Luck" party).
These are characters of our team members ^-^ (by the way this ended up nowhere near the t-shirt design
)
Our leaving boss, a.k.a. the Father, is an encouraging man. He reads heaps of management books, like the Covey's 8th Habits, the Drucker Way, and all that jazz. I guess that's where he gets his management style from. I think because he keeps practising and keeps reading until it becomes so natural, which brings him a productive outcome.
On the first working day with him, I remembered him saying he couldn't let any of the 3 candidates for Finance Trainee go. We're so good that he had to take all 3 of us. I may never know his actual reason but that just sounds flattering, don't you think? But I am beginning to wonder if it was a wise decision..!?
After working for some time I think I am better off with studying than working. At work you need to fight, and I don't mean like a fight with an obvious competitor, if you know what I mean. It's more like a fight for what's right for you, a fight for your boss recognition, a fight for not being responsible for crappy unneccessary workload, a fight to show you're worthy to the company. There always be a fight. Friendly or enemy-like.. it is so unavoidable.
I'm not a competitive person and I never will be.. so being in a fight, it is so darn uncomfortable, and torturing.
But don't get me wrong. I can cope with some healthy competitions. I just hope that I will not have to fight ever in my life.
Or maybe I have to create my own Utopian world, b'cos it seems so impossible to remove all kinds of competitions from this world we're living in.
So Hello!! Competition.
